Juice cleanses are a short break, not a treatment. Talk to your doctor first if you're pregnant, nursing, diabetic, have kidney disease, or take medication.

how it works

Your cleanse, start to finish

Every cleanse is six bottles a day. Drink them in order, about every two to three hours, with plenty of water in between. Going 3 or 5 days? We press your juices fresh and label each day.

Pick a cleanse

The day before

Ease in

Eat light: fruit, veggies, salads, soups and nuts. Cut back on coffee, alcohol, meat, dairy and sugar so day one doesn't hit hard.

During

Sip, don't chug

One bottle every 2–3 hours in the numbered order. Drink 6–8 glasses of water and herbal tea. Keep bottles cold and shake before you sip.

Hungry?

Listen to your body

Eat raw fruit, cucumber or a small handful of nuts. A cleanse should feel lighter, not punishing. Dizzy or unwell? Stop and eat.

The day after

Ease out

Start with fruit, smoothies, soups and salads. Add fermented foods and fiber back first, then return to your usual meals over a day or two.

why cleanse

What a cleanse actually does

Your liver and kidneys detox you every day. A cleanse gives them a lighter load and a lot of plant nutrients to work with.

A mountain of produce

Six bottles hold several pounds of fruits and vegetables. That's more produce in a day than most people eat in a week.

A digestion break

No heavy meals to process for a day. Many people feel lighter and less bloated.

Real hydration

Juice brings water plus potassium, magnesium and natural sugars, which help your body hold onto it.

A habit reset

A day without coffee, sugar and snacks makes it easier to notice cravings and start fresh.

check first

Who should skip or ask first

Cleanses aren't for everyone. If any of these fit you, have a juice with meals instead.

Pregnant or nursing

Skip cleansing. Add a juice alongside your meals instead.

Diabetes or blood sugar issues

Juice without fiber can spike blood sugar. Talk to your doctor first.

Kidney disease

Green juices are high in potassium and oxalates. Get a doctor's OK before any cleanse.

On medication

Grapefruit and leafy greens can interact with some drugs, like statins and blood thinners. Check with your pharmacist.

good questions

Cleanse FAQ

How many days should I do?

Start with 1 day. If it feels good, try 3 next time. Five days is for experienced cleansers.

Will I be hungry?

A little, especially on day one. Drink water between bottles and keep a few pieces of raw fruit or veggies handy. Eating a little won't "ruin" your cleanse.

How long does the juice last?

It's raw and unpasteurized, so keep it cold and drink it within 3 days of pressing. For 5-day cleanses, we press in two batches so every bottle is fresh.

Can I have coffee?

Easing off coffee the day before makes the cleanse easier. If you need it, keep it black and small.

Can I work out?

Keep it light: walks, stretching and yoga. Save heavy training for after, since juice has almost no protein.

Does a heavy metal detox really pull out metals?

The foods in it (cilantro, spirulina, wild blueberries) are popular in natural-health circles as “binders,” but human research is limited. It isn't a treatment for metal or lead poisoning. If you're worried about exposure, ask your doctor for a blood test.

Can I swap juices?

Yes. Build Your Own lets you choose all six, or ask us to swap one or two bottles in any program.
