What actually makes water useful
Hydration is not only how much you drink. It is how much of it your body can put to work.
Does the job for everyday thirst. After heavy sweat or a long night, it replaces the fluid but none of the minerals that went with it.
Water arriving with potassium, magnesium, and natural sugars, in the ratio the fruit grew them in.
- ElectrolytesMinerals that move water Sodium and potassium sit on either side of your cell membranes and govern where fluid goes. Without them, water passes through rather than staying where it is useful.
- GlucoseThe co-transport trick Sodium and glucose are absorbed together in the small intestine, and water follows them. This is the mechanism oral rehydration solutions are built on, and it is why a mineral-and-sugar drink can be absorbed more efficiently than plain water.
- PotassiumWhere fruit earns its keep Oranges, bananas, and leafy greens carry potassium in meaningful amounts. It works opposite sodium to keep fluid balanced inside your cells.
- MagnesiumQuiet but load-bearing Magnesium is a cofactor in hundreds of enzymatic reactions, including the ones that produce ATP. Dark leafy greens are among the better food sources.

Is juice as hydrating as water?
For everyday thirst, water is perfectly good and cheaper. Where juice pulls ahead is after fluid loss, because it brings potassium, magnesium, and natural sugars along with the water rather than water alone.
Isn't there a lot of sugar in juice?
There is sugar, and we don't hide from that. The difference is that it is the sugar the fruit grew, arriving with the vitamins, minerals, and plant compounds that came with it. We add none.
Do I need an electrolyte drink instead?
If you are replacing heavy, sustained sweat loss, a formulated electrolyte drink is built for exactly that. For ordinary days, food and juice cover most of what you need.
How long does a bottle keep?
Cold-pressed and never heat-pasteurized, so it is meant to be drunk within a few days and kept cold the whole time. Check the date on the cap.
Can I drink it every day?
Plenty of people do, usually one bottle as part of a meal or first thing in the morning. If you are managing blood sugar or a kidney condition, talk to your clinician first, since potassium and natural sugars matter in both cases.
